Use the register to identify the document you need

The Nueces District Clerk records page directs users to the Records Search Portal for a register of actions in criminal cases. That register is a filing list. Use it to identify the dated judgment, dismissal or other order; it is not automatically the document itself.

Three outputs should not be confused

Output What it provides When to use it
Register of actions List of filings in the identified case Locate the title/date of a relevant document.
Ordinary criminal copy Text of the requested filing Read the charge, order or outcome itself.
Certified criminal copy Requested document with certification When the receiving organization requires certified court evidence.

The records page’s re:SearchTX price description addresses civil/family material. Do not carry that rate over to a criminal order; use the criminal-copy instructions below.

Request copies from the criminal division

  1. 01
    Complete the current order form

The criminal-copy form asks for the cause number, defendant details, requestor/contact information and document choices. The division FAQ calls for case style, document titles, delivery preference and callback number.

  2. 02
    Confirm channel and total

The FAQ gives fax 361-888-0759; the form also lists an email request route. Follow the current form or confirm with the division at 361-888-0495. The FAQ lists $1 per page plus $1 for certification, with an appointed-attorney exemption.

  3. 03
Pay and receive the selected output

The instructions call for payment before completion/delivery. Confirm mail or pickup and certification before paying. Compare the delivered document with the requested case and filing.

Choose the document by the fact it must prove

Accusation

The indictment or complaint states the allegation. It is not the same as the judgment.

Final outcome

Select the judgment/sentence or dismissal as appropriate to the docket. Where several counts exist, identify which outcome belongs to which charge.

Later probation action

A revocation judgment or termination order is a separate listed choice on the form. Request it when your question concerns what happened after the initial sentence.
